Minecraft how to hide redstone

So Ive been building this timer thing so that when I walk into this room, I have to wait a few seconds for the iron door to open, like an airlock or decontamination room.

Problem is the redstone circuits are all over the place and looks really ugly. I tried putting it behind a wall back cant connect it to the door that way, tried putting it under the floor but still no luck.

Is this possible or is this just something you have to deal with with redstone?

I did but most are for the PC and they only show the basics on making them, not covering them up or making it look neat.

all this redstone laying around and repeaters and stuff looks right messy.
